Nan was born in Arkansas and graduated from Ouachita Baptist University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. She has been married to her sweet & smiling husband John for over 50 years and lived in Carrollton almost that long. You may not know that Nan was the first music teacher in the Carrollton Farmers Branch School District, travelling to 5 different schools to teach children music as well as the children’s choir coordinator at First Baptist Church Carrollton for 28 years. Nan also served on the Carrollton-Farmers Branch School Board for two terms and was awarded the first CARROLLTON WOMAN OF THE YEAR AWARD! She became a stay-at-home mom to raise her two children Shaun & Jeanan, however once an “empty nest” was in sight she decided to combine her love for shopping and travel…thus The Vintage House was born!
This unique store was chosen as one of the three national winners in “A Visit from Tracy” contest. The nationally recognized, Tracy Porter, and her design team chose The Vintage House on the basis of product selection, display creativity, and event concept.
